The Legend of Stevie

It was a warm Monday evening when our class received the news... The school mascot had been kidnapped by the sick, maniacal Laurie Schmeling, who gave us a list of clues on how to rescue the beloved pointer. She split us into multiple groups and sent us out into the library complex to find the mascot. Upon searching for the first clue we ran into the other groups, and we decided to form an alliance to help save the mascot quicker. Most of the groups agreed, but a young Clever Kevin had heard rumors of a ransom or prize if he discovered Stevie first. He decided to go it alone with his other cronies and leave the rest of us behind. With the rest of the groups united we set out to find the rest of the six clues, but this also did not last long. There was unrest among the alliance and clue by clue groups disbanded to find the treasure first. All that remained was the two faithful groups left in the alliance that hadn’t succumbed to the greed and kept the noble cause of finding Stevie not for the greed.

As we traveled we encountered many setbacks set by the demonic Clever Kevin. Hiding the clues to get to the beloved Stevie. One example of such setback was finding the most recent UWSP newspaper. October 12, October 12, October 12th the only date we could find. We scoured the second floor for minutes upon minutes an unending trench of despair. All we wanted was this week’s news, but it was not granted to us, as there were just the two faithful groups of crusaders left we decided to skip and go on the next clue feeling that we might obtain some knowledge about the newspaper from a different location. When we reached the fifth floor we ran into a seal who spoke to us in seal tongue the next clue. Luckily there was a seal translation bible in the same section of library. About 45 minutes had gone by and we were running out of time. Due to all the stair sprinting we all grew tired of walking, so we decided to take the elevator for faster transportation. On the elevator we ran into a kind lady who told us where to find a local newspaper, but this info was to no avail, she insisted that we go to the DUC to find one, but this was not an option. The “kind young Lady” was obviously sent by Clever Kevin to slow us down, but with hope in our hearts and valor in mind, we stayed true to the task at hand.

When the final task was achieved the band of brothers and sisters went down to alert the others. Upon arrival they noticed that Clever Kevin had already returned and took his plentiful bounty. Although we have lost this battle, we most definitely have not lost the war. We look to the future as to stopping our enemy from ever completing another case in the pursuit of wealth instead of honor. No one knows if Clever Kevin and his dastardly gang will ever change their ways, but there is one thing. We solemnly swear that we will do everything that we can to prevent the prevail of Clever Kevin ever again.
